Four Little Letters Can Determine Your Dental Career Path. . . Who Knew?
One (of the just many!) cool things about the Myers-Briggs Test, is that is a HUGE help in suggesting careers you may like, based on your answers, whether you fancy working as a Dental Receptionist, a Dental Assistant, a Dentist, or a Dental Sales Representative.
Socrates once said, "The unexamined life is not worth living."
Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers obviously thought so, too. Instead of choosing ending an unexamined life with a pair of dull kitchen shears, they put their heads together and came up with the MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) test, which was inspired by Carl Jung. It was first published in 1943 and it is still going strong, today, and is used by hirers, job banks and individuals by the millions.
The test - which takes only a few minutes to complete, asks you questions regarding various life scenarios. Based on your answers to these, by the time you "Click to Submit", your personality is analyzed into 1 of 16 types, each containing 4 letters.
- The first letter of your type indicates whether you are more of an Introvert or an Extravert.
- The second letter indicates whether you are more intuitive or Sensing.
- The third letter indicates whether you are more inclined towards Thinking or Feeling.
- The fourth letter indicates whether you prefer to Perceive or Judge.
Determining your Myers-Briggs test result can also give you insights into your personal relationships, your strengths and weaknesses, how you learn best and which type of work environment helps you thrive best.
Go take the test at http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp
. Or, you can go to http://www.truity.com/test/type-finder-research-edition
. It is FREE on both sites, and when you receive your type, there is then a link that suggests common career paths for you and people who came out with the same four letters as you have! You will, of course, also get a detailed explanation of your MBTI personality type.
"Know thyself". Not sure who said that (it could have even been Socrates, too!), but this test will definitely point you in the right direction for that!
